Overview of Cappadocia:
Cappadocia is famous for its breathtaking valleys, unique rock formations and ancient cave dwellings. This region, formed as a result of volcanic eruptions in the Erciyes, Hasan and Gullu mountains, as well as thousands of years of wind erosion caused by the flow of the Kizilirmak River, is a geological miracle. Visitors can explore the cave churches and underground cities of the early Christian era, which served as a refuge from Roman persecution. Rich in history, Cappadocia was inhabited by Assyrians, Hittites, Phrygians, Persians, Romans, Seljuk Turks and Ottomans.
